Update on Mount Tabor school shooting
Wake Forest Police remain in contact with local authorities who continue to search for the suspect in the shooting at Mount Tabor High School. There is no reason to believe there is any risk to campus. Campus will be updated should the risk in our area change. Faculty, staff and students should remain alert to new information while continuing normal activities.
Winston-Salem public schools and police have confirmed a single incident resulting in injuries to one high school student. No other incidents have been confirmed. All precautionary lockdowns have been lifted at other local public schools, other than at Mount Tabor.
Wake Forest offers its support to faculty, staff and students who may need personal support:
- The University Counseling Center and Office of the Chaplain are available to listen to students who need to speak with someone here. The Counseling Center provides crisis assistance for urgent mental health needs 24 hours a day at 336.758.5273.
- The Emergency Assistance Program is available to faculty and staff for assessment, referral and follow-up services.
