Wake Forest’s Reynolda Campus, including Wake Downtown and other University sites located in Winston-Salem, will close at 3 p.m. today. Snow and sleet are expected to begin late this afternoon and continue through Saturday.

A decision regarding Saturday’s operations will be made later after assessing conditions. The University will keep the community informed of any changes through Wake Alert emergency notifications. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to download the Wake Safe App to receive safety and weather information. Here’s how emergency communications are shared and what you can do to stay informed.

Campus service hours will be adjusted due to the weather. Check websites for updated hours of operation for campus dining, the Wellbeing Center, ZSR library, Deacon Health, Mail Services and WFU shuttle services.

Checking into University housing after 3 p.m.

  • Students moving on to campus for the Spring 2025 semester who need to pick up keys, should go directly to their residential community and contact the RA on duty.
  • Students locked out of their rooms should go directly to their residential community and contact the RA on duty.
  • Students who have lost their Deacon OneCard should visit University Police in Alumni Hall to get a temporary ID.

Additional guidance from Human Resources

  • Non-essential Personnel: In the interest of safety, employees who are not designated as essential personnel and working on-site should leave campus at the time of the closing. Non-essential personnel, including those working from a flexible work location, should not be expected to perform work during the closure hours and may enter Administrative Leave for this time.
  • Essential Personnel: Employees who have been identified as essential personnel may be required to perform work onsite if their work is directly related to the weather event or remotely if their work provides critical business continuity services. Supervisors should proactively and clearly communicate travel and performance expectations with essential personnel.
